Valley View Ministries

There are many different ministries here at Valley View, and lots of ways you can participate, have fun, contribute, learn, and enrich both your life as well as the lives of others. Hopefully one of these ministries will appeal to you. The leaders of each are listed with the ministry. We encourage you to contact them directly or use the 'Send Email' link for more information.

Our goal is to inspire, equip and support parents and provide age-appropriate environments for children to learn and understand who God is, how He loves them, and how they get to be part of His Big Story. We work to provide a safe and secure environment where children, nursery through elementary school, learn through hearing, doing, and building relationships.

Hi, my name is Jerry Entenman and I have the privilege of being the worship leader at Valley View since August 2014. Prior to that I have been part of worship teams at several other churches. I actually grew up at Valley View through my high school and early adult years, actively involved in the music program here. I am really excited to be back in a ministry role at my home church.

In addition to my worship team experience, I have had the opportunity to be part of Portland’s Singing Christmas Tree for over 20 years. A graduate of George Fox University, I was part of the New Vision Singers as well and part of a number of musical productions there.

The worship style here at Valley View is full of energy and praise. We sing primarily contemporary worship, drawing from songs by Chris Tomlin, Kari Jobe, Phil Wickham and others, but also with a mix of the tradition hymns I grew up with. We would love to have you come worship with us on Sundays! Please send me an email if you have any questions about Valley View or the worship team.

With a Cub Scout Pack and a Boy Scout Troop, we have exciting adventures for your boys from ages 7 through 18.

Cub Scouting is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. In Cub Scouting you'll have lots of fun, adventure, and activities with your den and pack. But there's more to it than that. Being a Cub Scout means you are a member of a worldwide youth movement that stands for certain values and beliefs. Cub Scouting is more than something to do. It's all about the boy you are and the person you will become. The boys typically have two den meetings and one pack meeting a month from 6:30pm to 7:15pm.

Troop 33 is an active and growing Boy Scout troop that is service-oriented and boy-lead. If you are (or have) a boy age 11 (or in 5th grade) - age 17, join us on Tuesday nights from 7:15pm - 8:30pm for adventure, learning, and lots of fun.
